EA Sports has announced a new game for Wii, NHL Slapshot, a sport of hockey title that will continue the tradition of Nintendo to have all kinds of peripheral bringing a small accessory shaped hockey stick.

"I think we wanted to do until we get it right," said Joe Nickolls, chief executive of Electronic Arts. "Wii is somehow challenging because a console does not look like anything."

"The stick is the key element of differentiation," said David Littman, creative behind the project. "Being able to shoot or fight for possession with someone in our own living room ... is hockey in your living room, just the opposite of playing with a pad."
